Robert N. McKenzie, Sr.
Mr. Robert N. McKenzie, 86 died Tuesday, 14 August, 2012 at Hospice Savannah while surrounded by his family.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida 7 March 1926 and educated at Robert E. Lee High School, Jacksonville Jr. College and the University of Florida where he was a member of Phi Delta Beta Social Fraternity. He was employed by Ford Motor Company as a Field Representative and served in various departments including, Service Representative, Sales Promotion, Training Representative, and Truck Merchandising Manager for the Jacksonville District of Ford, which included all of Florida and Southern Georgia. In order to spend more time with his family, Mr. McKenzie resigned from Ford and moved to Savannah as General Manager of J.C. Lewis Motor Company, where he remained in various positions for several years. He later became employed by Sasseen Bonding Company by Robbie Sasseen where he remained a number of years and was appointed Vice-President until he retired.
He was an avid amateur radio operator, ARRL-K4JMQ, and a member of the Forest City Gun Club for many years.
Survivors include his sons, Robert N. McKenzie, Jr., of Savannah, John E. Lee, of Decatur, GA, and daughter, Rebecca Lee Abbott, of Oakwood, GA, and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel, Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Robert, John & Becky, My prayers are with you. Norman was such a nice man and he will be missed. I can't remember the occasion, but Alice made me dance with Norman and I stepped on his toes! I really miss those days when it seemed we were all 'family.'

I never met Mr. McKenzie but he became close friends with my parents, Virgil and Wilma Wyrick. They will always think very highly of Mr. McKenzie. I'm glad they were all friends. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
